Wildcat Mountain Ski Area
Pinkham's Grant, NH

Wildcat as seen from the main parking lot
Summary
Wildcat is quite possible the crown jewel of New Hampshire skiing. Located across the notch from Mt. Washington and Tucks, the views are second to none. Add in a fast high speed quad that serves 2,000+ vertical feet, and you have a skier's mountain.

Ski |
I skied Wildcat with my friend Dan on a powder day. Fluffy powder, not the normal wet New England junk. Though the trails leading to the racing area were scraped, the rest of the mountain was in decent shape and the lift lines were virtually non-existent.

Hike |
I hiked Wildcat via the Polecat trail. The gondola was running (very few users) and a zip line was being installed. Click here for hiking trip report

Ski |
I skied my last day of the season in very foggy weather. Though the bare and slush patches were popping up, the skiing was still pretty good considering it was almost May.

Ski |
I skied a few morning hours at Wildcat on a 70 degree day. Despite being late April, trails were covered with wall to wall snow - no bare patches to be seen anywhere.

Ski |
I skied Wildcat with my friend Sean on a somewhat warm, clear spring day. Before noon skiing resembled midwinter with packed powder on the upper mountain. Lower mountain boilerplate loosened into nice loose granular spring skiing as the afternoon progressed. While there was a decent crowd considering the time of year, the wait was only a few chairs at most. Bobcat and Polecat were in great shape. Wildcat seems to always be the place that makes me not want to ski - its hard to want to ski anywhere else after a great day there.

Ski |
I skied Wildcat on a nice, warm spring day. A utility cat crew was removing towers from the old gondola. While the snow was obviously lacking, a decent amount of terrain was still open.

Ski |
My friend Jamie and I skied Wildcat on a rather cool, windy spring day. The upper mountain was boilerplate for the whole day while the lower portion turned into slush. Nonetheless, the weather was beautiful and the amount of terrain open was great.
